Vardan Amaryan

Mr. Amaryan is an Investment Banker with over 20 years of experience in Finance. He began his career after graduating from Saratov State Socio-Economic University in Russia and later earned an Executive MBA from the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.
Mr. Amaryan has a solid track record of founding and managing investment companies, including Apricot Capital CJSC (Armenia) and Apricot Capital (Hong Kong) Limited.
He has served as the Chairman of the Board of Apricot Capital DIFC Limited since December 2024.

Abdullah Al-Baker

Mr. Abdullah Al-Baker, CFE, CIA, CBS, CGAP, is an experienced audit and compliance professional with a strong background in risk management and corporate governance. He is currently a consultant providing risk management, internal audit, and advisory services to organizations primarily within the financial services industry.Prior to consulting, Mr. Al-Baker was a Vice President in Aldar’s Properties’ Internal Audit & Compliance department where he led one of the key initiatives of modernizing the function as the company transitioned from a single corporate entity into a larger global enterprise.Mr. Al-Baker also founded and leads 3rd Eye Labs; a company focused on developing a sustainable and collaborative Open-Source Economy.His other notable experiences would include working for organizations such as Mubadala, Price Waterhouse Coopers and KPMG.Mr. Al-Baker holds the following certifications: Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Board Secretary (CBS), and Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP).
Aksel Movsisyan
Chief Executive Officer
Aksel has served as the CEO of Apricot Capital in the DIFC since the start of 2026. His focus is to bring operational effectiveness and compliance excellence to the firm, and into its relationships with clients and counterparties.
He has 20 years of experience in financial services, on an international scale, spanning the UAE, UK, and the CIS region. This includes 15 years with regulatory authorities (UAE DFSA, UK FCA, Central Bank of Armenia) and 5 years in the UK’s PwC and KPMG in the CIS, advising tier-one financial institutions in the UK, EU and Central Asia on matters related to risk management and regulatory compliance.
Aksel has an academic background in Economics, holds an MBA from Imperial College London and has diplomacy training from the Fletcher School at Tufts University. He has been living in the UAE since 2000, and is fluent in English, Armenian and Russian.

Vachik Gevorgyan

Mr. Vachik Gevorgyan, CFA, is an investment professional with over a decade of success in the field.
He is a graduate of the Armenian State University of Economics, where he received an MS degree in Finance and a PhD degree in Economics.
Mr. Gevorgyan has worked at various esteemed financial institutions, including the Central Bank of Armenia, Armswissbank CJSC, and Araratbank. He is currently the Executive Director of APRICOT CAPITAL CJSC (Armenia).
Mr. Gevorgyan also serves as a lecturer in the Chair of Finance at the Armenian State University of Economics.
